Welcome to your Moving and Assisting of People Level 2 course. The course begins with a brief introduction and overview of the course content. We look at the various Acts and Regulations that govern Safe Moving and Assisting, as well as how and why we need to do this correctly and the manager's duty to ensure staff are kept safe and understand the policies and procedures in place.

It is important to assess each individual move and this section looks at why that is, including back and spinal injuries and repetitive strain injuries (RSI), You will learn what to do when an accident happens and about slips, trips and falls.

In this section, you will learn how to lift objects safely, individually, and in a team, as well as odd-shaped objects and pushing and pulling techniques.

In this section, you will learn not only how to safely move and assist people, including the use of slings, boards, and chairs but how important communication is when assisting.

This section specifically covers moving and assisting those who are in a bed, the use of slide sheets, how to turn a patient, and how to use satin bed sheets.

This section looks at falls and fall prevention, and how to assist somebody if they have fallen.

There are a number of aids used to assist when moving people, these include turntables, rotating standing aid, slings, hoists, and wheelchairs. In this section, you will learn about each in more detail.

In summary, we give more information on how to take your final test and print your certificate of completion and other course resources.
